Boom Shankar

In 1972, a Volkswagen Kombi traveled from the Netherlands to India. This journey is the source material for Boom Shankar, the only film directed by Guará Rodrigues, a mythical figure in Brazilian cinema. By watching fragments of this film, the occupants of the trip rediscovered the liberating and pioneering spirit of that era.

Documentary filmmaker, director, editor, and screenwriter, he studied at FAU-USP. Since 2004, he has directed eight feature films, as well as numerous short and medium-length films, series, and music videos, screened and awarded across cinemas, television, and streaming platforms.
